Opinion | This Isn’t Obama vs. Romney 2012
[ad_1]
When William Galston compares President Biden’s poor polling with President Barack Obama’s at this point in his 2012 re-election campaign (“Biden Has Plenty of Time to Bounce Back,” Politics & Ideas, Nov. 8), his analysis stumbles. The perception of cognitive decline isn’t as easily reversible as perceptions of policy. Further, the usual advantage in gravitas that a president has against a challenger doesn’t hold when the challenger is a former president. Past isn’t necessarily prologue.
