Juniper Networks, a leading provider of networking products and solutions, is reportedly poised to trim its India unit by 10-15%, resulting in the potential loss of nearly 500 employees, as it merges operations with Hewlett Packard Enterprises (HPE).

As per an Economics Times report, the job reductions are seen as a natural progression. Once the regulatory procedures are completed, facilitating the merger with HPE, the India workforce could see a decrease of 10-15%.

Back in January, HPE declared its firm commitment to acquire Juniper for approximately $14 billion in cash. HPE’s CEO, Antonio Neri, characterised the acquisition as a strategic manoeuvre aimed at expanding HPE’s reach, particularly within the networking sphere. Following the merger, Juniper’s CEO, Rami Rahim, is set to helm the unified networking business.
